The name garnet comes from the Latin word granatus, which means grain or seed - referring to the pomegranate.
Origin: China
Photographed in BRIGHT LIGHT which creates the illusion that these garnets are bright red - they are a dark, deep red as they're supposed to be, and when light shines through them you can see red.
