An exceptional original Hibernian FC programme from one of the most significant matches in the club\'s history.
On Wednesday 25th April 1951, Hibernian defeated Raith Rovers 3–0 at Easter Road in front of 20,000 supporters. The victory mathematically secured the 1950–51 Scottish League championship for Hibs.
Going into the match, Hibs were top of the table on 42 points, with Dundee on 37. The 3–0 victory took Hibs to 44 points, leaving Dundee unable to catch them with only one league match remaining. Hibernian were therefore crowned Scottish champions as a result of this victory.
🏆 THE TITLE-CLINCHING PROGRAMME
What makes this particular programme especially fascinating is that there is no great championship celebration printed inside.
The reason is that the programme was clearly prepared before the match was played — meaning this is effectively a contemporary snapshot of the occasion before anyone knew that the evening would end with Hibernian being crowned champions.

The reverse features a wonderful Tom Curr cartoon, headed “KEEP YOUR EYE ON EASTER ROAD”, along with supporters\' notes and contemporary Hibernian news.
The cartoon is particularly unusual, as the programme identifies it as another famous Tom Curr cartoon, originally appearing in the Edinburgh Evening News in October 1932.
There are also references to the Easter Road Parade film, Hibs supporters\' branches, meetings and other fascinating snippets of contemporary club life.
A PIECE OF HIBERNIAN HISTORY
This isn\'t simply a programme from Hibs\' famous 1950–51 championship season.
It is the programme from the actual match in which Hibernian secured the League title.
Hibs went on to finish the season with victories over Rangers 4–1 and Celtic 3–1, completing a remarkable championship campaign with 22 wins, 4 draws and only 4 defeats.
