The Howard & Co. Sterling 4 pc Antique Vanity Set features a unique repousse design of a green man and lions, showcasing the Art Nouveau style popular in the late 19th century. While the designs all are similar, the markings show that it's possible that there were different makers involved in producing this antique set, possibly Gorham.

They're all handcrafted in the United States of high-quality sterling silver (.925). This set is a rare find for collectors and those seeking antique grooming items with a touch of historical elegance. While it's in great (most are in excellent shape) shape for its age, please note the ware that it has sustained over the decades as shown in the pictures. The mirror shows a dark area, and the long brush had its middle area pushed in, and there are a few small wear holes on the long brush in the silver that make it look like the lion is opening his mouth (could be from production?). Please examine photos as these are the exact beauties you'll receive. They're an incredible work of art and a chunk of history to behold.

He is usually surrounded by grapes, fruit, etc. The set also displays Dominick & Haff’s makers mark (diamond, circle, rectangle) as well as The Howard Co, who often consigned with other silver makers. I believe that the vanity set was made by Dominick & Haff and retailed by The Howard Co. Although it’s undated, it appears quite old, perhaps during the 1880s. Dominick & Haff were famous sikvermakers.
