The lead singles are "Can't Tell Me Nothing," which was originally meant to be offered to Young Jeezy by DJ Toomp, who is well known for his work with T.I., and "Stronger," which is based on Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" (programmed by Timbaland). To be honest, when I first listened to these two songs, I wasn't really impressed, but listening to the whole album made me realize Kanye's talent once again. The album is full of variety, from chart-oriented tracks like "Good Life," featuring T-Pain as the main guest and John Legend and Ne-Yo on backing vocals, to "Barry Bonds," which brings out the hottest MC of the moment, Lil Wayne, and boasts of his string of hits by modeling him after Barry Bonds, to "Drunk & Hot Girls," a bluesy take on Can's melancholy prog song "Sing Swan Song," to "Everything I Am," which combines lyrics that hint at Kanye's current struggles with a soft piano sound and Primo's scratching (the scratching material is from PE's "Bring The Noise"), to "Homecoming," featuring Coldplay's Chris Martin, songs that everyone can relate to. The album also ends with the Jigga hymn "Big Brother," which is a nice touch. The album's overall crossover level is higher than the previous one, but it's not too cutting-edge, and it still feels nostalgic and fresh. So no matter how many times I listen to it, it doesn't bother me, and it has depth. I think it's incredible that the listener can have this kind of feeling. And what's amazing about Kanye is that he can do it so effortlessly. It's a masterpiece after all.
