I adore lilac flowers. There were various kinds of them in my granny\'s yard. After the lilac blossom, the summer starts. And that means hot weather, long days, lots of flowers and fruit. Lilacs are, for me, the symbol of a carefree childhood and limitless freedom.This painting was created at my workshop at Valby Kulturhus, Copenhagen in 2025. We explored how to paint lilacs not by copying every petal, but by feeling them. I demonstrated how to create expressive brushstrokes, vibrant hues, and layers of texture to capture the lilac, airy charm. We used tissue, brushes, palette knives, and even fingers. Each participant found their own rhythm and hues, experimenting every moment. Watching everyone’s paintings bloom before my eyes was truly magical.
