Living up to 4 years and growing up to 2+ inches Stone Centipedes make great pets as they are hearty and very easy to care for. They enjoy humid conditions and are usually found burrowing in loose tree bark, dirt and leaf litter. In captivity adults will eat isopods, pin head crickets, small mealworms, small slugs and small worms. They will also accept pre killed items. In their enclosure it is best to use 1-3 inches of damp peat moss or bio active soil with spring tails. You can also add dry leaves. Add a piece of tree bark or a flat stone on top of bedding so they can hide. They like it room temperature or slightly higher 68-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Mist weekly but do not make the enclosure sopping wet. A small shallow cap of water also helps them stay hydrated but is not necessary as long as they stay humid water should collect on the walls.
