Mercedes Benz Hirschmann Antenna Repair 721094-001This 3D printed part goes to all automatic telescoping antennas across the Sacco line, as far as the early 1980s I believe.If you have one, just like I have three, you may notice it doesnt work anymore, but you can sure hear it! Believe it or not, it is not the teeth on the antenna whip, rather the retrieval gear is broken and needs replacing!So, I carefully redesigned the gear over the span of six fucking hours to afit all three of my 96’s, and now my antenna works again! Faster too. HOW TO GUIDE
1. Replacement is simple, remove the mast via the 8mil socket at the base, then carefully undo the 13 mast retainer at the top of the antenna, it will fall out unto thee. unplug all the bullshit and pay attention to its position, as this repair takes roughly 20 minutes, so you’ll be back very soon! 2. Upon viewing the mast, you will see a T20 holding the center together, undo that and watch the whip disperse under excitement to see the light of day once again! You will see these worn gears, and they can be viciously removed by hand, or carefully remove the motor with two T10 bolts inplace.3. Once the old gear assembly is gone, grab the old metal brace and place it into the new gear housing, and voilá, installation is in reverse! TIPS
