As an homage to the distinguished authors who expanded our literary horizons, shaping entire eras and cultural movements, Montblanc unveiled the Writers Edition collection featuring literary canons that invented the written word and gave rise to its passions and perspectives. This Writers Edition ballpoint pen is dedicated to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, a German polymath, literary giant, lawyer, government minister, theater director as well as prodigious collector and naturalist, a revolutionary intent on pushing back the boundaries of perception and learning. Responsible for writing "The Sorrows of Young Werther", a novel which catapulted Goethe to overnight fame and even influenced this limited edition. The shade of blue and the pattern of the cap & barrel's precious lacquer reflect the color and structure of the wallpaper in the Juno room in the writer’s home. Its signature gold-coated and platinum-coated fittings are also reminiscent of other decorative elements in the home's interior. An engraving on the barrel ring echoes the framing of a copperplate illustration in an early Werther edition. The cap top resembles a chemist's jar, a tribute to Goethe's accomplishments as a scientist & collector while a string of clover leaves is engraved around it, a detail originating from his letter to his beloved Charlotte Buff, the model for the figure of Lotte in his novel. The gold-coated clip in the shape of a leaf honors his studies in the field of morphology and specifically his proposition of an archetypal plant form. This homage is a limited edition of only 7,000 pieces, has a length of 135.2 mm, a diameter of 16.1 mm, and comes in a special Writer's Edition gift box.

All returns must receive a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and be returned to WatchesAndBeyond within 30 days of receipt of the original purchase. The RMA must be clearly written on the outside of the package. Any item returned without an RMA is subject to a 15% restocking fee.
