Historical note: Garrett Corporation and its AiResearch operations became part of a significant aerospace corporate lineage. Garrett merged with Signal Oil & Gas in 1964, becoming part of The Signal Companies; Signal later merged with Allied Corporation to form AlliedSignal, which acquired Honeywell in 1999 and adopted the Honeywell name. Garrett\'s aerospace legacy therefore became part of what is now Honeywell\'s aerospace business.
