Nobody remembers exactly when Uncle Henry started carving the faces.
At first there were only one or two sitting around his workshop.
Then there were more.
Above the windows. Over the doors. In the corners.
Toward the end, he became strangely particular about where they were placed. If someone moved one, he would quietly put it back.
Once, when asked what they were for, he answered:
“They don't like being watched.”
That was about as much explanation as anybody ever got.
"Henry" is an original hand-carved wooden folk-horror figure inspired by Appalachian folk art, rural superstition, outsider carving and old handmade warding objects.
Carved from linden wood and painted entirely by hand. Tool marks, asymmetry, surface texture and imperfections are intentional and unique to the piece.
