This offering is for what I believe is an antique 19th century Scoter Duck Decoy. The decoy is oversized measuring app. 17" in length and 11" high not counting the custom made stand. The wood is also app. 1 3/8" thick. The decoy retains it's original first coat black, white and orange paint with a fantastic surface and patina. The condition is beautifully displayable but as you can see not perfect. There is loss the the top of the head which exposed an early iron spike or nail that extends into the neck and body. The front of the head has orange paint remaining on the top of the bill, please note there is wear and loss to the end of the bill. There are a couple of cracks in the neck which is probably why the spike is present, for added stability. The white wing paint is still present on one side but nearly entirely gone from the other. If you look under the bottom you can see that there is wear, wood loss and holes from in use mounting. The duck has been on this stand for a while and I have not tried to remove it for fear of possibly damaging the decoy. It is very stable but I just saw no need to do so. The buyer will pay a fixed amount of $ 25.00 for Standard Mail and we will include delivery confirmation, tracking, at no additional cost.
