Cabinet: TheIngraham made American Walnut cabinet is an absolute stunner. Beautiful wood grainflows throughout the entire set with an elegant burl grain in the center, stripedgrain on the bottom and pinstripe inlays across the top. A large, wood-louvered“Miracle Tone Chamber” grill not only looks great but allows for optimal soundfrom the speaker. Emerson's G clef logo finishes the cabinet off perfectly.This Art Deco beauty is sure to be the highlight of any room in the home oroffice you choose to display it in.
Dial& Knobs: The black and gold dial is quite attractive. The AMbroadcast scale is displayed at the top and the shortwave scale at the bottom.Numerous foreign city and country names are listed for shortwave reference. Allletters and numbers are legible and show virtually no signs of wear. The dialis illuminated by a top mounted dial lamp for easy dim or dark room tuning. Allthree knobs are in perfect shape and control on/off & volume, high/low toneand tuning. A knob on the back of the chassis controls the band switch.
Chassis: All tubes in the 6-tube chassis were tested with any weaktubes being replaced. All caps, filters and resistors were checked and replacedas needed. All brittle or bare wiring was replaced or re-insulated. The chassishas been cleaned, lubed, and re-aligned for optimal performance. Using theincluded copper line antenna, the radio plays exceptionally well. I'm able toreceive many stations across the AM broadcast band with great tone and plentyof volume. I am also able to receive quite a few stations on the shortwaveband, especially at night.

Our goal is to maintainthe natural beauty of the wood and grain, while providing a deep luster andshine. We achieve this by removing all the old and worn lacquers and stains. Wethen sand the cabinet with fine grit pads down to the original bare wood.Nicks, chips, and blemishes are filled and/or blended. Any loose veneer isre-secured. We make sure any filler applied, or repairs made are blended nicelyand do not detract from the beauty of the set unless otherwise noted. Newstains and sealers are applied by hand. We continue by using many coats ofMohawk brand lacquers and toners applied in the same manner as when the radiowas originally finished in the factory. We use nitrocellulose piano lacquerwhich is applied through a professional HVLP turbine spray system in aclimate-controlled room. Nitrocellulose lacquer is very thin. We also applyvery thin coats. This allows the lacquer to seep into the grain and not coverit up. A fine grit wet sanding follows every third coat along with a polishingprocess and ending with a QAR-Glaze rub (available in our store or clickhere: https://www..com/itm/133346478270 ).Many hours of work are put into the radios, but as you can see, the outcome isa beautiful, natural-looking cabinet with gorgeous luster & shine.
