Original Beautiful Modern Abstract Contemporary Acrylic Painting
When I painted this, I had a story in mind of some godly spirt figure, that once a year is like this scene of wicked fire works, slicing itself with a knife in the air above water only to then be reborn again as this wonderous display of suffering.
For some reason, I called it "beach." For some reason, in my mind, in this pretend, fictional world, this happened over the water: a being my mind displaying itself gloriously with self infliction.
1 year later, my brother's-fiancé's-brother shoots himself in the head on a beach and kills himself.
Everyone in my family calls it a coincidence. I don't believe that for a second. Suicide is around every corner in my life. I thought of calling my estranged cousin after 2 years of not seeing him. I oddly felt like calling him. 2 weeks after I felt this, he shoots himself in the head. Both dead.
If it wasn't for art. I'd probably have gome the same route.
Art is more than something that makes me happy, it keeps me rooted into the Earth. I have such a sense of identity, I'm knowing who I am, and having a "thing".
This painting, just like my painting on here entitled "savannah" was made during my wild party years and is painted with so many layers and colors, the viewer will never get bored looking at it.
This was made only raw, pure as almighty hell, MDMA folks....good times...good times.. 🤭
