This is a classic piece of Mid-Century Scandinavian art glass produced by Orrefors, the renowned Swedish glassworks company.
The vase was designed by Nils Landberg—one of Orrefors’ most influential mid-century artists—and expertly hand-engraved by a master craftsman.
The design features a beautifully detailed, frosted engraving of a stylized Art Deco/Mid-Century modern woman in a long patterned gown, looking up toward a flock of small, minimalist flying birds.
According to traditional Swedish glass catalogs:The script letters incited into the glass are actually a stylized "Orrefors" followed by "Landberg" or "LN" (Landberg's shorthand designation code).
The numbers following it are the production/pattern design serial number assigned to this specific motif and shape in the factory registers.
This is an exceptional piece of authentic Scandinavian design.
Condition: Vintage very good.
On the bottom rim, you will feel a rough area on both sides.
On one side of the rim there is a tiny imperfection.
I attempted to get pictures of a couple of flea bites also, so please be sure to look carefully at the photos as they are part of the description of this beautiful vase.
