Pair of 19th-Century Spanish Colonial Brass Slipper Stirrups (Conquistador Style)Authentic antique pair of heavy cast-brass slipper stirrups, circa mid-to-late 19th century, in the classic Spanish Colonial / South American “Conquistador” form.Each stirrup features ornate embossed decoration with bold fan (anthemion) motifs, floral medallions, and scrolling designs on the exterior sides. The interiors show the characteristic pair of triangular drainage holes in the footbed — a standard functional feature of genuine period examples.Solid cast brass construction; each stirrup weighs approximately 3 lbs (1.36 kg). Surfaces display a rich, natural aged patina ranging from warm golden-brown to deeper mottled tones, with areas of greenish-blue verdigris oxidation, especially concentrated at the toes and in recessed areas.
