A striking and highly sculptural pair of gilt-brass candelabra, dating to the late 19th–early 20th century, most likely French or Continental European, executed in the Louis XVI Revival taste with an exceptionally unusual looping arm design.
Unlike standard examples, these candelabra feature fluid, ribbon-like arms that create a dynamic, architectural silhouette — elegant, balanced, and visually arresting from every angle. The refined urn-form stems are accented with restrained floral collars, rising from stepped circular bases with crisp classical fluting.
The original gilt surface retains a warm, luminous tone with attractive age patina, showing natural craquelure and wear consistent with age and use. One bobeche shows minor, age-appropriate lacquer loss, typical for gilt brass of this period and not visually distracting. Structurally excellent, with no loose arms or instability.
A beautifully scaled and decorative pair — ideal for a mantel, dining table, console, or library, equally at home in classical, eclectic, or modern interiors.
