Pair of antique figural bronze candle wall sconces, European (French or Austrian), circa 1860–1890, in the Renaissance Revival / Neo-Grec taste. Each features a draped caryatid figure supporting a spiral-cast foliate stem and an engraved urn-form candle cup on an ornate pierced scrolled backplate. Rich aged patina with warm brass and bronze tones. A handsome, decorative matched pair for a period, Victorian, or classical-revival interior.
The caryatid figures, Neo-Grec engraved urns, twist-turned stems, and pierced Renaissance-Revival backplates are hallmarks of c. 1860–1890 European decorative metalwork. These were likely piano sconce(some such models were later electrified). Construction and patina read as genuine period pieces, not late reproductions.
