Three consecutive original annuals from the Pictorial Photographers of America, the organization founded in 1916 to advance photography as an art form. Each volume gathers work selected by jury from prints submitted by members across the country, reproduced as full-page plates, together with essays on technique, aesthetics and the activities of the regional chapters and salons. Consecutive runs of these annuals are uncommon in the trade.

• 1920. Foreword by Clarence H. White. Essays on the Pictorial Photographers of America by Edward R. Dickson, on pictorial photography in New Jersey, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland and the Far West, and on Middle West activities and the Pittsburgh Salon. Photographs numbered to 114. Photographers include Alvin Langdon Coburn, Gertrude Käsebier, Imogen Cunningham Partridge, Edward Weston, Clarence H. White, Margrethe Mather, Laura Gilpin, Jessie Tarbox Beals, Adolph de Meyer, D. J. Ruzicka and 90 others.

• 1922. Essays include "Sincerity" by Albert Sterner, "The Year's Progress" by Henry Hoyt Moore, "On Ideas" by Heyworth Campbell, and an account of the organization by Dr. A. D. Chaffee. Condition Notes:

• 1920 Edition: Moderate wear to edges of boards. Foxing on end pages. Faint must/"old book" smell when you put your face right in it. Minor soiling to cloth spine. Toning around edges of boards. Binding secure but stressed. Previous owner's name written on FFEP. Clean inside.
• 1921: Faint toning to cloth spine. UV discoloration/sunning to board edges. Moisture stain bottom corner; largest shown on photo of title page for 1921 with the photo showing specifically the stain shows its size about halfway through the book. Securely bound.
• 1922: Best condition of the lot. Some minor wear to cloth spine. White dusty spotting on front cover; made more obvious given the dark green. Toning to early/late white pages. Previous owner's name written in pen on the FFEP. Securely bound. Clean.
