Rare vintage Homer Laughlin Kenilworth ice bucket, an exceptionally hard-to-find piece from the company’s iconic mid-century buffetware line.The Kenilworth line was introduced by Homer Laughlin in 1955 as a special buffetware collection created for New York distributor Jack Kleinman. In 1957, Homer Laughlin expanded the line with four additional forms—including this ice bucket.This example features the classic Kenilworth combination of a sculptural white glazed ceramic body with a fitted brass lid and brass finial. Brass fittings were an important feature of the original Kenilworth hollowware and give the line its distinctive 1950s modern appearance.Marked “Kenilworth U.S.A.” on the underside, one of the documented original Kenilworth backstamps. Kenilworth pieces were not marked with the Homer Laughlin name despite being manufactured by Homer Laughlin.The brass lid retains its attractive vintage character and shows age-appropriate surface wear, scratching and patina.
