For sale is a pair of RARE Excellent Used Condition 1960s Hanover X Towncraft 2746 Turf Olive Forest Green Longwing Blucher Gunboat Dress Shoes Men\'s 9 C/A.

If you had happened to be flipping through the 1967 Sears Fall/Winter Catalog back in the day, you may have come across these two handsome brogues. The traditionalist would almost certainly opt for the classic Longwing Blucher (LWB) in a rich English Tan, as shown on the right; the perfect complement to a fuller-cut suit and a decidedly inoffensive style. Conversely, the younger, more fashion-forward customer may have opted for the slimmer and sleeker wingtip derby on the left, in an eye-catching \"Antique Olive\" tumbled calf; the proportions of this shoe would be right at home with the new slim Mod suits of the time.

Let\'s say that you, the prospective customer, fall somewhere in between, however. It would be nice to have the trend-resistant LWBs, but you also appreciate the rich green hues of the Antique Olive leather. Lucky for you, Sears (and their supplier Hanover) had you covered there, too: you could order this shoe in that same green leather. You may even be able to make out the miniaturized example at the bottom right of the advertisement.

If this all feels like a little déjà vu, you may remember that we covered this model before on this account, just over a year ago. Owing to its serious rarity, and its being a highly desirable alternative to Florsheim\'s Forest Green Kenmoor Imperial (93633), I thought it deserved another post. You really can\'t go wrong with these interesting and sturdy shoes, especially when you consider the standard to which they were built: 1960s Hanover Imperial Line quality.

These shoes feature a supple and eye-catching Turf Olive-green Tumbled Calfskin leather upper, classic Hanover pattern Longwing Blucher Gunboat Dress Shoes design, flat waxed braided black laces, leather lining, leather sockliner, leather insole, leather midsole, leather outsole, stacked leather heel (with nails and V-Cleat), and Storm Goodyear Welted Construction.

For reference, here are the approximate measurements (taken along the outsole):

Length - just under 12.25\"

Width (at the ball of foot) - just over 4.25\"

These shoes have seen some wear but have been maintained exceptionally well. A testament to this, they still feature their original outsoles and heels.

I first thoroughly rehydrated these shoes with multiple rounds of Weimans Leather Conditioner (spray), cleaned and conditioned them, inside inside out, with Weimans Leather Wipes, deep cleaned and conditioned with Lexol Cleaner and Conditioner, edge-dressed/polished the sole-sidewall/edge with Saphir Beaute du Cuir Shoe Cream, oiled the soles with Saphir Médaille d\'Or Sole Guard, and polished them with Neutral Saphir Beaute du Cuir Shoe Cream (to maintain their unique and distinct coloration). They come from a pet and smoke-free home. Shoe trees are not included.
