Up for sale is a rare 1910 antique hardcover edition of The Escort of An Emperor: A Story of China During the Great Boxer Movement by H. O. Kohr. Self-published by H. O. Kohr in a limited run, original copies of this book rarely surface. I was lucky to find this tucked away in a personal library at an estate sale. I am looking for a buyer who will treat the book with the respect it deserves, and have priced it as such.
This volume details events in China surrounding the Boxer Rebellion/Movement. As noted on the title page, this text was \"dictated by a blind man who lost both eyes in a dynamite explosion\".
Condition Details:
Covers & Spine: Original brown cloth hardcover with clear black stamped title lettering. Light shelf wear/rubbing along the outer edges, corners, and spine ends.
Binding: Hardcover binding remains solid and complete.
Pages: Interior pages show age-appropriate toning/yellowing along margins, but text is clean and legible with no torn pages observed.
Overall: Strong Vintage/Antique condition for a 110+ year old book.
