Rare 1984 Louisiana World Exposition China Pavilion Hanging Ornament
Offered is an authentic vintage commemorative hanging ornament that was purchased at the China Pavilion during the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition in New Orleans, Louisiana. This beautiful and uncommon souvenir commemorates the last officially recognized World’s Fair held in the United States.
The ornament features a gold-tone metal medallion with an image of a traditional Chinese junk ship and the inscription:
LOUISIANA WORLD EXPOSITION
MAY 12 – NOV 11, 1984
The medallion is suspended from a traditional red Chinese decorative knot and finished with matching red tassels accented in gold, symbolizing good fortune and prosperity.
This pavilion-specific souvenir is much less common than standard World’s Fair memorabilia and would make an excellent addition to any collection of Louisiana World Exposition, World’s Fair, New Orleans, or Chinese cultural memorabilia.
Approximate Measurements
