I custom ordered this IBM PS/2 Model 65SX many years ago, it has been sitting and it is tie to get rid of it. It has a ton of options:- 386 SX processor- 8MB of RAM
- 3.5" Floppy Drive- 5.25" Floppy Drive- SCSI Hard Drive (I can't remember what size, but pretty sure it is MB's not GB's) (It does have a second hard drive, but I have been unable to get to it or read from it.)- Internal tape backup unit (I have two tapes that I will throw in, they are old, no guarantee they will work).- It has the two original case keys (see picture).- I will include the Model 65SX reference diskette, though I cannot guarantee it will work, nor that the Floppy drive works, though it does whirr and click and try to read a diskette. I cannot get the Reference diskette to boot.
I tried a couple of ways to boot it and it gets stopped by date and time. The 8MB of RAM passes POST, but I can only get past date and time if I hit F1 and enter it manually every time I start it. It will boot to a DOS prompt, and I can read the C-drive with DOS commands, but cannot get Windows to boot. I replaced the old DALLAS time and date chip with a modern replacement and fresh battery (see pic). I will include both the old and the new chip. Neither seems to work.
This thing is very sturdy and is heavy, weighing in at just under 50 lbs. To have it professionally packed and shipped will be between $100-120. I will have UPS do that. I am asking $350 which includes the shipping cost, which I will cover to ensure it is done right. You may never see another one of these for sale again.
