Rare Vintage Wilson Sam Snead Blue Ridge Copper-Plated Forged Iron Set – 3-SW – Left Handed
Here is a beautiful and increasingly difficult-to-find set of vintage Wilson Sam Snead Blue Ridge forged irons featuring the distinctive copper-plated finish and Wilson’s Radial Sole design.
This is a complete 9-club set consisting of 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, pitching wedge and sand wedge. Finding one of these vintage sets is one thing—finding a complete left-handed 3-SW set in this condition makes this one especially interesting for the vintage Wilson player or collector.
The copper finish has developed a fantastic mature, brushed appearance that gives these irons tremendous vintage character. They aren’t trying to look new—and that is part of their appeal. The heads display the attractive patina and honest cosmetic wear you would expect from a vintage forged set, while the faces and grooves remain in very nice condition. Please examine the detailed photographs, as they are an important part of the description and show the actual clubs you will receive.
The irons are equipped with Wilson Pro Step regular-flex steel shafts. Even better, the entire set has just been fitted with BRAND-NEW Vimpsey grips installed September 16, 2026. The grips have never been played and give the clubs a clean, ready-to-use feel without taking away from their vintage appearance.
The classic forged heads have a wonderfully traditional profile—compact shapes, minimal offset, thin topline appearance and the simple Wilson/Sam Snead styling that comes from an era before oversized cavity-back irons became the norm. The copper-toned finish, black Sam Snead script, white Wilson Radial Sole markings and Blue Ridge branding make these particularly striking in person.
Whether you’re a Wilson collector, Sam Snead enthusiast, vintage-golf player, or simply want a set that nobody else in your foursome will have, these are genuine conversation pieces. Modern irons may have more technology, but they simply don’t have this kind of character.
A beautiful piece of Wilson golf history that can be displayed, collected—or put right back on the course.
