Rare 1960 Lenin Selected Works 6-Volume Box Set Foreign Languages Press English For Sale

Offered here is a is a complete 1960 six-volume English-language box set of "Lenin Selected Works" issued in commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Lenin (1870-1960). This complete set includes all six hardcover volumes with their original dust jackets and original outer box. The books have remarkably clean, well-preserved interiors.
Published by Foreign Languages Press of Peking, China in 1960, this is the Second Edition, October 1960. These books were printed in the People's Republic of China, while the original outer box bears Japanese text and the name Nauka, Ltd., Tokyo indicating distribution in/via Japan.
An unusual feature of this set is its combination of English-Language volumes published in Peking with the original Japanese-market distribution box still present. We consider this rare, complete 1960 six-volume box set to be in excellent vintage condition for its age. All six hardcover volumes are present with their original dust jackets and original outer box. Bindings are tight and intact, hardcover boards are exceptionally well preserved, and interior pages are clean and bright with very little evidence of use. No missing, loose or torn pages, water damage, mold, mildew or odors. The original outer box shows expected age and shelf wear, including some surface, edge and corner wear; please review photographs carefully. One original dust jacket has a very small tear at spine, as photographed. Two volumes have a small area of light foxing/toning on their interior page where a bookmark or paper note may have once been tucked inside (see photograph #21 & first two books in #22 compared with all other volumes). Small pencil notations appear on inside front page of all volumes for pricing or catalog purposes, but we leave them undisturbed for the new owner to erase or preserve.
