Circa: 1910This impeccably rare high quality rug was woven well over 100 years ago and has a fantastic show! The design is an intricate drawing of botany depicting multiple flowers and vines intertwining creating fabulous motifs, the border is spectacular paying homage to the “motasham” family of rugs that are praised as the highest possible caliber of carpet which this Fereghan sarouk is not far from. The condition is good however the pile is extremely low and almost threadbare throughout demonstrating its age and use. Both sides and ends are original with some lines missing at each end. The colors on this piece are phenomenal having been made with all natural vegetable dyes.
