Authentic vintage 1979 Hermes porcelain ashtray. Rare, limited edition corporate commission celebrating the inaugural Boeing 747 UTA Cargo flight.

It was custom-crafted by Hermès Paris strictly to commemorate the Inaugural Flight of the Boeing 747 UTA Cargo (Union de Transports Aériens). Issued only for a single year as a VIP promotional gift for airline executives and dignitaries, it was never available for public retail purchase.

Much scarcer than standard horse or elephant patterns. Features blue geese with hand-painted gold trim. Marked Hermes Paris and Made in France with original suede base. No chips or cracks.

Details:The artwork features a striking mid-century modern aesthetic depicting wild geese in flight over varying shades of French blue, highlighted by intricate, hand-painted gold leaf outlining on the wings and feathers. It features the crisp, iconic gold leaf script signature HERMES - PARIS on one outer sloped rim and Made in France on the opposing rim. The base is fitted with its original vintage dark charcoal-grey luxury suede protective base to prevent furniture scuffing. Dimensions are approximately 7.5 by 6.3 inches.
