Rare Vintage Tissot F1 TS-X2 Cal. 2045 Ana-Digi Team Lotus Era Swiss Made 1979 For Sale

A seriously cool and very difficult to come across vintage Tissot F1 TS-X2, powered by the fascinating Tissot Calibre 2045 ana-digital movement.Dating from around 1979–1980, this comes from Tissot\'s early F1 era and the period of the brand\'s involvement with the legendary Team Lotus Formula 1 team. It\'s a fantastic piece of late-70s Swiss watchmaking, when traditional analogue watches were meeting the new digital technology of the time.The design is brilliant – a large angular stainless-steel case, integrated bracelet, analogue display sitting above the LCD screen and the original function markings across the front. It has a real high-end retro-futuristic look that is unmistakably from this experimental period of watchmaking.The watch also retains its Tissot bracelet and signed Tissot clasp, which really completes the original look.The digital display and digital time are working, and the backlight is also working nicely. The LCD is clear and displays well.I haven\'t been able to work out how to set/operate the analogue display on this unusual vintage model, so the analogue function hasn\'t been fully tested.Cosmetically it has genuine age-related wear, including scratches and marks to the crystal/front and general wear to the case and bracelet.I\'ve deliberately left everything as it is rather than trying to over-restore a watch of this age.
