Vintage 1964 "Famous Photographers Course" clothbound hardcover binder set, three volumes, covering the complete 24-lesson correspondence course (Lessons approx. 1-8, 9-16, and 17-24).
This landmark photography correspondence course was taught by a faculty of ten legendary photographers, credited as authors on the course materials, including Richard Avedon, Alfred Eisenstaedt, Philippe Halsman, and Irving Penn. Richard Avedon — one of the most influential fashion and portrait photographers of the 20th century, known for his work with Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, and The New Yorker — was a founding faculty member of the school.
Each volume is a large clothbound ring binder packed with instructional text, technique breakdowns, and black-and-white and color photographic plates. A striking, substantial set that displays beautifully on a shelf or coffee table as much as it informs.
