ORIGINAL ARTWORK FROM SWEDEN ART GALLERYAn expressive Scandinavian landscape painting dated 1975 and signedwith the artist`s initials, ÖS, in the lower right corner. the composition captures a leafy outdoor setting with glimpses of buildings emerging between the trees. Broad, energetic brushstrokes create a wonderfully spontaneous interpretaion of the landscape, where representation gives way to colour, texture and movement. Rich olive greens, mustard yellows, earthy ochres and muted burgundy tones are contrasted against areas of soft white and pale grey. The deliberately loose handling of paint gives the work a distinctive modernist characte, with an appealing balance between abstraction and recognisable forms. A characterful example of 1970sScandinavian painting well suited to interiors featuring mid-century modern furniture, natural materials and selected vintage art. Handwritten inscription on reverse with the artist`s name, adress and the year 1975.
