Samuel Davis Otis was born in Sherwood, New York in 1889. He was a nationally known artist and illustrator. He was a founding member of the Silvermine Guild of Artists (founded in 1922) and a veteran of World War 1.
My parents purchased this Art Deco piece in the 1950's during a vacation in New York. It has been in our family for over 60 years.
We are moving and feel another art lover or collector should keep this piece of American Art history.
The piece is unique .....it has a hand made wood frame with a glass front panel.
There are stones on the female figure and all work is totally original in design.
