Beautiful coordinated set of six vintage framed reproductions based on maps from the celebrated 1519 Miller Atlas, one of the masterpieces of early Portuguese Renaissance cartography.
The original Miller Atlas is associated with Portuguese cartographers Lopo Homem, Pedro Reinel and Jorge Reinel, with its remarkable painted decoration attributed to António de Holanda.
Each map features extraordinary Old World cartographic imagery, including elaborate compass roses, rhumb/navigation lines, sailing vessels, coastal settlements, figures, animals, vegetation and detailed geographical scenes.
These six reproductions were professionally framed more than 30 years ago and have been preserved under glass. All six have the same dimensions and matching presentation, making them particularly impressive displayed together as a gallery wall collection.
