It’s a retro piece, likely pre-1980s when Hong Kong’s toy industry boomed in the 1960s and 70s. By 1972 the city had overtaken Japan to become the world’s biggest toy exporter. Many of us of a certain generation remember the ubiquitous mark on the underside of most everything kitsch and plastic.Highly collectible mid-century curiosity pieces, these Hong Kong made novelty decorations were usually made of molded plaster or composite resins during the 1950s through the 1970s.These pedestal displays were sold as Halloween props or “museum-style” display casts rather than anatomical repros. Often shown displayed with books on specialized blocks meant to elevate the piece into gothic or dark academia decor.Condition: Excellent. No issues to report.While on its base:
