This pair of petrified wood bookends has such fantastic swirls, cut outs, color variations and natural artwork that it seems a shame to hide it by making them bookends. In fact my father, a geologist, displayed them under lights on a glass shelf in our home….next to each other without a book in sight.
I have looked at many examples of petrified wood and haven’t found any quite like these. I wonder if they came from a tree Burl millions of years ago.
The pictures are of front and back which do differ somewhat. The tallest is 7in and the smaller is 5.5in. They both are about 6in wide. They are both 2 in thick. The pair weigh a hefty 8lbs.
