At Las Vegas Exotic Fish, the health and safety of our livestock is our top priority. We take great care when selecting, packing, and shipping live fish, coral, plants, and invertebrates. Please review our shipping policy before placing an order.
SHIPPING DAYS
Live livestock orders are generally shipped Monday through Wednesday to reduce the risk of packages being delayed over the weekend.
Shipping days may be adjusted due to holidays, carrier schedules, severe weather, or extreme temperatures.
Orders placed later in the week may be held until the following shipping week for the safety of the livestock.
SHIPPING METHODS
Live fish, coral, and invertebrates are shipped using an appropriate expedited shipping service based on the destination and type of livestock.
We may use insulated shipping boxes, heat packs, cold packs, oxygen, and other packing materials when appropriate.
Shipping methods may be changed when necessary to protect the livestock.
PROCESSING TIME
Please allow time for livestock to be inspected and prepared before shipment.
We reserve the right to delay an order if:
- Weather conditions are unsafe.
- Temperatures are too hot or too cold.
- A carrier delay or service disruption is expected.
- The livestock does not meet our health standards for shipping.
The health of the livestock takes priority over the originally scheduled shipping date.
WEATHER DELAYS
Las Vegas Exotic Fish reserves the right to hold livestock shipments due to extreme heat, freezing temperatures, storms, or other weather conditions that may put livestock at risk.
Customers will be contacted when a significant shipping delay is necessary.
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY
The customer is responsible for:
- Providing a complete and accurate shipping address.
- Providing a valid phone number and email address.
- Tracking the shipment and monitoring its expected delivery.
- Making arrangements for someone to receive the package.
- Bringing the package indoors immediately after delivery.
- Following proper acclimation procedures.
LIVE ARRIVAL GUARANTEE / DOA POLICY
We stand behind the livestock we ship.
If an animal arrives Dead on Arrival (DOA), the customer must contact Las Vegas Exotic Fish within 2 hours of the carrier\'s recorded delivery time.
To qualify for our DOA guarantee, the customer must provide:
- Clear photographs of the deceased livestock inside the unopened original shipping bag.
- Clear photographs showing the condition of the shipping box and packaging.
- The customer\'s name and order number.
- Any additional photographs or video reasonably requested by Las Vegas Exotic Fish.
Do not discard the livestock, shipping bag, or packaging until the claim has been reviewed.
Approved DOA claims will receive store credit for the purchase price of the affected livestock.
Shipping charges are not refundable or credited.
DOA GUARANTEE EXCLUSIONS
The Live Arrival Guarantee may be void if:
- The claim is submitted more than 2 hours after recorded delivery.
- The customer is unavailable to receive the shipment.
- Delivery is missed or refused.
- The customer provides an incorrect or incomplete address.
- The package is redirected or held at a different location without prior approval.
- Livestock is left outdoors or unattended after delivery.
- The customer fails to provide the required photographs.
- The shipping bag has been opened before DOA photographs are taken.
- Loss occurs after successful live delivery and during or after acclimation.
- The customer chooses a shipping method that does not qualify for the Live Arrival Guarantee.
ACCLIMATION
Customers are responsible for properly acclimating livestock after arrival.
Water conditions vary between aquariums, and livestock can be sensitive to rapid changes in temperature, pH, salinity, and other parameters.
The Live Arrival Guarantee covers eligible livestock at the time of delivery and does not guarantee survival after the animal has been removed from its shipping bag or introduced into the customer\'s aquarium.
LIVESTOCK APPEARANCE
Photos used online may be representative of the species unless the listing specifically states that the customer will receive the exact animal pictured.
Natural variations in color, pattern, size, fin shape, and markings should be expected.
Livestock may also temporarily appear pale or stressed after shipping. Coloration often improves after the animal has acclimated to its new environment.
LIVESTOCK SIZE
Livestock sizes listed on our website or marketplace listings are approximate unless otherwise stated.
Natural variation between individual animals should be expected.
ORDER CANCELLATIONS
Because live animals require special preparation and scheduling, cancellation requests should be made as soon as possible.
Once an order has been packed or transferred to the shipping carrier, it may no longer be eligible for cancellation.
SHIPPING COSTS
Shipping charges are calculated separately from the livestock purchase unless otherwise stated.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable, including when store credit is issued for an approved DOA claim.
If replacement livestock is requested instead of store credit and Las Vegas Exotic Fish approves the replacement, the customer may be responsible for the cost of shipping the replacement order.
COMBINED ORDERS
We may combine compatible items into one shipment when appropriate. Certain livestock may require separate packaging or shipments for safety.
Additional shipping charges may apply when an order requires multiple boxes or separate shipments.

Las Vegas Exotic Fish reserves the right to update this policy as needed and to evaluate DOA claims individually when unusual circumstances occur.
