Overall, the partial leather bound books are in Fair Condition. Engravings have browning and toning on them.
Volume I - 399 pages. Both of the partial leather boards are present, but no longer connected. The leather is rubbed and cracking. The spine is cracking and the leather is flaking and peeling. There is scuffing along the edges and the corners are bumped and dented. Writing by a previous owner on the front end page. The first 5 pages are only still connected at the top of the book. There is age related browning and toning to the pages. Some foxing and spotting. Some stains on the pages and nicks/chips along the edges.
Volume II - 392 pages. The front partial leather board is present, but no longer connected. The back board and last 2 pages are only still connected at the top. The spine is loose, as well. The leather is rubbed and cracking. Some of the leather on the spine is missing. The other leather is flaking and peeling. There is scuffing along the edges and the corners are bumped and dented. Writing by a previous owner on the front end page. There is age related browning and toning to the pages. Some foxing and spotting. Some stains on the pages and nicks/chips along the edges and some creases on the pages, as well.
Volume III - 420 pages. Both partial leather boards are present, but no longer connected. The leather is rubbed and cracking. Some of the leather on the spine is missing. The other leather is flaking and peeling. There is scuffing along the edges and the corners are bumped and dented. Writing by a previous owner on the front end page. The first 6 pages are no longer connected either - including the Title and Contents pages. The last 6 pages are loose, too. There is age related browning and toning to the pages. Some foxing and spotting. Some stains on the pages and nicks/chips along the edges and some creases on the pages, as well.
