TAMPA BAY RAYS vs. NEW YORK YANKEES – 2026 ALDS GAME 1This souvenir rally towel was given to fans attending an unforgettable night of postseason baseball at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, when the Tampa Bay Rays defeated the New York Yankees 1–0 in Game 1 of the American League Division Series.Rays starting pitcher Drew Rasmussen delivered a historic performance, carrying a no-hitter into the eighth inning and completely shutting down the Yankees lineup. Rasmussen pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing only one hit while striking out 10 and walking two. His 10 strikeouts tied the Rays franchise record for strikeouts in a postseason game. The game's only run came in the bottom of the third inning when Jonathan Aranda launched a solo home run off Yankees ace Gerrit Cole, giving Tampa Bay the 1–0 lead that would hold for the rest of the night. The Yankees finally broke up Rasmussen's no-hit offer with two outs in the eighth when Austin Wells doubled down the right-field line. Wells attempted to stretch the hit into a triple but was thrown out at third, ending the inning and the Yankees' only real scoring threat.Rays closer Bryan Baker pitched a perfect ninth inning, striking out two and securing the 1–0 victory and a 1–0 Tampa Bay lead in the best-of-five ALDS.The game was especially significant because it marked the return of postseason baseball to Tropicana Field following the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Milton in October 2024. It was also the first postseason meeting between the Rays and Yankees played at Tropicana Field.Final Score: Tampa Bay Rays 1 – New York Yankees 0This rally towel was distributed to fans attending the game, making it a great piece of Tampa Bay Rays postseason memorabilia from a memorable pitching performance and historic night at Tropicana Field.
