Original textile mill roving can (also known as a sliver can, card can, coiling can, spinning can or fibre can).
These large cylindrical containers were used throughout the textile industry to store and transport sliver – the thick untwisted rope of fibre produced during the carding process before being drawn into roving and eventually spun into yarn.
Constructed from hard fibre with metal reinforced top and bottom bands and a riveted seam, this is an authentic industrial textile manufacturing item with excellent display appeal.
