This listing is for 2 boards, there are two per stereo preamp/integrated amplifier. This model PEC is specifically used in The Fisher 400C, 400CX and 400CX-2 preamps, and X-1000, X-202 and X202-B integrated amplifiers. The sound improvement is immediately noticeable.
The components on this board are the same values and arrangement as appearing on the schematic, so there are no modifications to the original sound. Where the improvement happens is that these new components are miniature 2% tight tolerance STACKED FILM capacitors and 1% tight tolerance resistors. The original units used ceramic capacitor construction and resistor tolerances were much looser than 1%. Film capacitors are an immediate improvement over ceramic
Installation is easy, just snip the leads from the original part, insert the leads into the numbered holes and solder. There is also a ground plane built into the new part for additional shielding. A ground wire to the chassis ground shall be soldered into this hole
