The Three is a 1976 audiophile jazz release by the trio of pianist Joe Sample, bassist Ray Brown, and drummer Shelly Manne. Pressed in Japan on the East Wind label [presented by AI Music Co., Ltd. and manufactured by Nippon Phonogram], this album was recorded using direct-to-disc [\"direct cutting\"] technology, bypassing traditional magnetic tape to capture an exceptionally dynamic, warm, and natural acoustic performance.
