VERY RARE, VINTAGE Child’s slant top school desk. When opened, it has a scroll section that turns revealing teaching information. It has a cubby hole and drawer for storage of items. It also has a storage area under the chalk board area. There is a double-sided, slide out flat board to write on (chalk board area) as well as a slanted slide for easier writing. The maker was Foundation Desks, Chicago, Illinois. They were made from 1910 to 1920 and were distributed to churches and schools across the country.This desk is in excellent original condition except for original paint wear. As far as we can tell it has the original paint, the scroll works, and we have the matching chair in very good condition, nice and sturdy. The scroll is in perfect condition. Some of the scroll topics are: “My Country, Health Habits, Letters and their Sounds, Common Business Forms, Penmanship, Letter Writing, Number Works, Arithmetic, Measures, Sewing, Good Manners, Boy Scouts and Camp Fire Girls” along with 8 others. This is a beautiful piece of history and is most certainly a prized collector’s item.
