The pendant is a small heraldic shield/crest shape with stepped, fanned \"art-deco\" shoulders. The front is enameled in orange (top) and black (bottom) — almost certainly the school\'s colors — with \"SENIOR\" across the top, a gold-tone crest/coat-of-arms in the center, and \"2003\" across the bottom. The back is plain polished metal.

These were sold by class-ring companies as an inexpensive keepsake alongside the pricier class rings — a souvenir of senior year.

The \"HJ\" mark on the back is the hallmark of Herff Jones, one of the largest U.S. makers of class rings and graduation jewelry (the others being Jostens, Balfour, and ArtCarved). \"HJ\" reads as Herff Jones.
