Estate find unidentified Japanese modernist woodblock print signed and numbered by -artist possibly Kiyoshi Saito?
We have not found another example of this print to identify the artist. Curious, as there were 100 prints made.Numbered 66/100. Pencil signed. Has a embossed stamp from an art gallery? Part of that stamp is cut off. See pictures.
Print mounted to some type of backing which is mounted to foam board. I have no idea if this will come off the backing i have not tried to peel it off.
Print is discolored may be some foxing and has toning seen around edges.
Paper measures 15.5" x 19.5".
Print area measures 13-1/4" x 17-1/4"
This woodblock print in need of restoration/conservation! Could be a rare work by an important artist!
