Vintage Yves Saint Laurent Brown Wool Coat
Fresh from a Dallas estate, comes this vintage long wool coat by Yves Saint Laurent from the 1970s. The tag reads, "Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Paris Made in France 40."
The coat is marked a women's French size 40 which is about a US 6/8. Because this is vintage it does appear to fit smaller, and detailed measurements are listed below.
The fabric is thick, heavy brown wool that is fully lined. The design is a long, A-line silhouette style coat with full skirt, a 5" wide collar, 7 metal buttons, 2 patch pockets on the chest, 2 functional pockets on the waist, 3 buttons on each wrist, and epaulettes with buttons on the shoulders. There is a matching 41" long by 2" wide belt and loops on the waist with metal buckle and grommets.
This coat is in excellent condition with no tears, odors, fading, stains, or missing accents. The coat has a couple of small holes and fabric abrasions. One area is on the front bottom left of skirt (photos #6-7), the back bottom back right of skirt (photo #14), and under left side of belt next to loop (photo #17). The end of belt near buckle has become unstitched (photo#18). There is light wear to all the metal buttons.
