Up for sale is an exceptional vintage clear glass display cloche (bell jar dome) complete with its original dark-stained, grooved wooden base.
This is a beautiful, high-quality artisan piece. The glass is incredibly thin and hand-blown, featuring a distinct, authentic pontil/shear mark bump on the ground bottom rim where the master glassblower detached the molten glass from the pipe.
It possesses beautiful vintage clarity and subtle artisan characteristics that you simply do not get with thick, mass-produced modern machine replicas.
Adding to its unique charm, the underside of the base still retains its original "MJD" Montgomery Ward original sticker on.
