Beautiful late 1950s Blouse de Jour by Saab fitted blouse in a soft silvery ice blue. Made of period Dacron polyester with an elegant satin-like sheen and labeled “Hand Detailed.”
The blouse features an especially lovely decorative neckline with contrasting ivory lace inset/appliqué work, tonal embroidered outlines and tiny embroidered accents. High rounded neckline, short sleeves with wide cuffs and scalloped embroidery, a strongly shaped waist with multiple darts, and a full button-back closure. A very feminine mid-century silhouette with detailing that still carries some of the refinement of earlier 1940s blouses.
Shoulder to shoulder measures 15 inches, chest is 34 inches, waist is 32 inches, and shoulder to hem is 21 inches.
Good vintage condition overall. There is some minor age-related discoloration and underarm staining, as shown in the photographs. Please review.
A particularly pretty and unusual example of a late-1950s dress blouse, with wonderful lace work and an exceptionally attractive silvery-blue color.
