Vintage Japanese battery-operated tin toy automobile, approximately 7 inches long. Marked JAPAN on underside. Appears to date from the 1950s/early 1960s. Tin body with rubber tires, chrome-tone trim and opening underside battery compartment.Sold AS IS. Tested with battery available to me and I could not get the motor to operate.Toy has been substantially repainted/custom painted at some point and shows considerable paint wear, scratches, chips, age wear and other imperfections. Please see photos closely. Not sure how easy it would be to remove the added paint. battery compartment looks very clean- and unsure if a new battery would work or if the motor may need tinkering.Great restoration candidate or display piece for a vintage Japanese tin toy collection.
