Vintage Mottahedeh decorative wooden keepsake/trinket box featuring a reproduction of the historic Cary Family of Boston silhouette, originally created by noted French silhouette artist Auguste Edouart on February 15, 1842.
The lid depicts the Cary family in detailed black silhouette and includes historical information identifying the original artwork. Interior label reads “From History of Silhouettes by courtesy of the Connoisseur B.301.” Bottom retains the original round “A Mottahedeh design” paper label.
Believed to date to approximately the 1950s–early 1960s and associated with Mottahedeh\'s Italian-made decorative accessories.
Measures approximately 8\" wide × 6½–7\" deep. Hinged wooden construction with finished interior.
Pre-owned vintage condition with age-related surface wear, scratches, scuffs, edge wear and discoloration/patina to the printed lid as shown. Original Mottahedeh label remains present. Please review all photos closely as they are part of the condition description.
