Vintage 1950s ZIPPY Monkey Marionette w/UNITROL Control & Original Roller Skates.
Wonderful original vintage ZIPPY monkey marionette, dating from the 1950s and owned by our family since it was purchased new.Zippy measures approximately 10 inches tall and wears his original yellow shirt with ZIPPY printed in large red block letters and his original green pants. He has a jointed, operating mouth and is controlled by strings using his original UNITROLmarionette hand controller, marked Patent No. 2,509,135.Also included are his original miniature four-wheel roller skates, which are particularly difficult to find still accompanying the marionette.Zippy is unrestored, and in his played-with condition. He shows age and wear consistent with a children's toy approximately 70 years old, including paint cracking and loss, particularly on the face and shoes, wear and staining to the clothing, and aged/tangled strings. Please examine the photos carefully for condition. I have intentionally not cleaned, repainted, restrung or restored him.This is an unusual surviving vintage character marionette.
