Up for sale is a vintage hardcover copy of The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis by celebrated humorist Max Shulman, complete with its iconic original 1951 dust jacket. This classic collection of eleven campus short stories served as the direct inspiration for the beloved late 50s and early 60s television sitcom. It features the vibrant, retro cartoon cover art that perfectly captures the satirical, mid-century college spirit.
Condition Details: very good
Dust Jacket: Present and retains bright color. Shows typical vintage wear along the edges, including some minor scuffing, as shown in the photos.
- Hardcover Boards: Cloth binding is structurally sound with secure hinges.
- Interior Pages: Clean text block, free from writin or missing pages. Toning is consistent with an authentic 75-year-old book. Oddly, there is heavy toning on pages 156 and 157. This is unique to this book is all other pages are in very good condition. I\'m not sure if the book said open to that page for a longer period of time or why only those two pages. See photos
